Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student

Jamie Hardy-Besaw is a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at the University of Cincinnati. She specializes in working with refugee and immigrant populations, both in her work at Immigration Psychology Services and through research at the University of Cincinnati.  Jamie is fluent in Spanish and provides evaluations for Spanish-speaking clients through Immigration Psychology Services.  Jamie’s passion for this work comes from personal experience.  Her mother was an

immigrant from Honduras and Jamie grew up understanding the complexities of life for Latin American immigrants in the United States. Prior to entering the clinical psychology doctoral program at the University of Cincinnati, Jamie worked with immigrants and refugees at US Together in Columbus, including working as an ESL instructor.  Jamie obtained her bachelors degree from Ohio State University in 2019 and her masters degree in Professional Studies in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland in 2021.

Antes de entrar en el programa de la Universidad, Jamie trabaje con inmigrantes y refugiados en Columbus con una organización llamada US Together, trabajando con sobrevivientes de tortura en restablecimiento y como instructora de ESL. Jamie obtuvo su licenciatura de la Universidad de Ohio State en 2019 y su maestría en Estudios Profesionales en Psicología Clínica de la Universidad de Maryland en 2021.
